Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team had a balanced effort throughout the contest as they defeated the College of Staten Island, 7-2, Wednesday afternoon on the APEX Tennis Courts.
The win extended the Lightning's (8-1, 2-1 CUNYAC) winning streak to seven games, including their second straight conference win as they remain in third place in the CUNYAC.
In singles play, Lehman earned a 4-2 edge over the Dolphins and swept all three doubles matches.
Sacha Espiritu secured victories in both No. 1 singles and doubles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Michelle Kishnir, while her and
Elizaveta Markouskoya won 8-0 in No. 1 doubles.
Mami Aoki,
Kanto Rasedoara and
Leslie Juanacio earned straight-set singles victories. Aoki and
Rasedoara were victorious in an 8-4 No. 2 doubles win, when
Patricia Cadet and
Toiyosi Adebayo swept the No. 3 doubles 8-0.
Lehman seeks their eighth straight victory of the season Saturday, when they host CUNYAC foe John Jay College at the APEX Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
