Box Score JAMAICA, NY --- The Lehman College men's basketball team took a 75-72 loss at York College on Saturday night at the York College Gymnasium in Jamaica, New York.
Senior
Chaun Miller led the Lightning with 18 points with nine rebounds and three steals.
Andrew Utate also finished with 18 points with three steals, while
Olusegun Williams was a force inside, scoring 14 points on fifty percent shooting and pulling down nine boards.
Olando Minott added 12. The Lightning of Lehman (17-7 / 11-4 CUNYAC) scored 30 points off York turnovers to stay in the game.
The Cardinals of York (9-15 / 6-9 CUNYAC) were led by Chad Coachman with 16 points, eight assists and three steals.
The first half was highly competitive as neither were able to take control. York went into the break with a 39-38 lead as Lehman never led by more than five. In the second half, the Cardinals never trailed, ultimately going up by ten with 8:44 left in the game. The Lightning, who've made comeback rallies all season, went on a 10-2 run, with eight of those points coming at the free throw line, to get back in the game. Down by seven with 1:30 to go, Miller made a layup, Minott buried a three and Williams hit a jumper to tie it for the first time since the first half at 72-72 with 41 seconds remaining. But York answered with a dunk by Ryan Clark, and after a stop by the Cardinals the Lightning were forced to foul. Down three with nine seconds left, both Minott and Miller managed to take shots from behind the arc but both were off as Lehman's three game winning streak came to an end.
Lehman will be back in action on Tuesday night when they play host to the College of Staten Island in a 7:30 p.m. contest. The Lightning will recognize their senior class prior to tip-off as part of Senior Night.
