Box Score NEW YORK --- The Lehman College men's basketball team won at Hunter College, 86-80, on Tuesday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.
The Lightning of Lehman (17-6 / 11-3 CUNYAC) were led by
Chaun Miller with 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Miller shot 50 percent from the floor and a perfect four-for-four from downtown.
Olando Minott came through with 19 points and five rebounds, making eight of his 14 shots on the night. Olegsun Williams posted his third double-double in the last six games, finishing with 17 points, pulling down a game-high 11 boards and swatting away two blocks.
John Brens was a playmaker both on offense and defense, as he dished out eight assists while scoring eight points and recording a pair of steals.
Andrew Utate came off the bench to score nine points.
The Hawks of Hunter (3-21 / 3-12 CUNYAC) were paced by Alex Mattina, who finished the night with 20 points. Robert Borusiewicz had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Brian Kruger added 13.
Down by six at the half, the Lightning trailed by as much as 12 with 14:47 remaining in the game. As they have for most of this season, Lehman reached within for a deep run to get back in the game. The Lightning exploded with a 14-2 rally to tie it at 60-60, with Minott capping off the stretch with a fast-break layup with 10:24 left. Then with 5:54 left, Hunter took a four point lead and Lehman needed to rally once more. The Lightning scored the next nine points with Utate hitting a huge three to give his team the lead for good. Lehman hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold off the Hawks, winning the fifth of their last six games.
