Bronxville, NY – Despite a match high 15 kills by
Salveira Gonzalez, the Lightning fell to Sarah Lawrence 3-1. It was the second time in two weeks that the Gryphons got the best of the Lightning.
Yzaira Galan was credited with a team high five service aces.
Samantha Delgado recorded a match high 21 assists and
Lindsay Pantaleon added nine digs.
The Lightning dropped the first set 25-16. The Gryphons scored the first six points of the set but Lehman rallied to take a 10-8 lead. With the set tied at 15, Sarah Lawrence would score the next eight points to secure the victory.
The second set was a carbon copy of the first with Sarah Lawrence winning 25-19. The game was tied at 16, when the Gryphons would go on a 7-1 run to take control of the set.
In the third set the Lightning fell behind early but rallied to tie the set at 12. The set went back and forth until the Gryphons owned a 22-20 advantage. The Lightning would score the final five points of the set to secure the 25-20 victory.
In the fourth set, Sarah Lawrence jumped out to an 8-1 lead and never looked back securing a 25-9 victory to win the match.
Lehman now stands at 4-9 while Sarah Lawrence improves to 8-4.
