Box Score The Lehman College women's volleyball fell to 2-15 with a 3-0 loss at New Jersey City University (10-9) in a non-conference women's volleyball contest. The Gothic Knights won in straight sets 25-19, 25-12 and 25-21.
Caitlin Vernon led the Lightning with seven kills and Francesca Acevedo added six.
Samantha Delgado was credited with 12 assists and
Paulette Sepulveda registered eight digs.
In the first set with the Lightning leading 4-2, the Gothic Knights ran off six straight points to take an 8-4 lead that they would not surrender. The Lightning rallied to cut the deficit to 20-17 but NJCU would go on to take the set 25-19. In the second set, the with NJCU leading 6-4, the Gothic Knights went on a 6-1 to take control of the set going to win 25-12. In the third the lightning jumped out to a 14-7 lead but could not hold on as NJCU went on to a 25-21.
The Lightning return to action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Long Island to tangle with St. Joseph's (LI) in Patchogue.
