The Lehman College basketball teams will travel to Manhattan tonight to battle the Bloodhounds of John Jay College in a CUNYAC doubleheader beginning at 6:00 PM.
The women will take to the court first as the Lightning will take on a Bloodhound squad that has struggled in the early going. John Jay enters the game with a 0-6 overall record and a 0-1 mark in conference play. Conversely, the Lightning sit at 4-2:1-0. Three players are averaging double figures for the Bloodhounds. Christianne Perez is netting 13.3 points per game. Kaitlin Koehler and Dana Nicholson are adding just over 10 points apiece per contest. John Jay is wrapping up a four game home stand tonight.

Lillybeth Garcia. The trio is averaging just under 39 points per game.
Aliyah Dorsett leads the squad in rebounds with 6.8 boards per game. Lehman's pressure defense seems to be the key for the Lightning this season. The defense has forced 178 turnovers in six games. The Lightning has won their last three and will begin a four game home stand starting on Friday night when rival Brooklyn College invades the APEX.

The Lehman men stand at 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the CUNYAC and have won three of their last four. In their last time out the Lightning rolled over CCNY in the conference opener 87-49. Coach Steve Schulman got to use his entire bench as all 16 players saw action. Lehman score the first 12 points of the game and never looked back. Four players tallied double figures.
Jean Marcial led all players with 18 points and seven rebounds. Through the first five games of the season the Lightning have shot an impressive .523 from the field and have scored more than 80 points per night.
Andrew Utate continues to pace the Lightning with an 18.6 points per game scoring average.
John Jay has lost three of their last four and now stands at 2-3:0-1. The Bloodhounds opened conference play this past Saturday falling at home to the College of Staten Island 77-63. John Jay is led by a pair of sophomores Hakeem Animashaun (19.4 ppg and 5.6 rpg) and Doug Levy (11 ppg and 8.6 rpg). Lehman took both games of the home and home series last season from John Jay. The last Bloodhound victory was during the 2015-16 campaign when the Bloodhounds came into the APEX and earned a two point victory.
