Bronx, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's tennis team fell to St. Joseph's College 5-3 in a match played at the Apex tennis courts on Tuesday afternoon. The second singles match was suspended due to darkness.
The Lightning dropped two of three doubles flights, with the one victory coming from the combination of
Sacha Espiritu and
Lizaveta Markouskaya. The prevailed at first doubles, 9-7, in a hard-fought and long match.
Lehman picked up two additional points in singles competition, both in straight sets. Espiritu won at first singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Yohara Molineros won her match at sixth singles, 6-4, 6-0.
The Lehman College women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, September 14, when they face Yeshiva on the road. The first serve is scheduled for 7PM.
