Women’s Tennis and Volleyball Return to Action

The Lightning women's tennis squad will travel to Long Island to face Farmingdale while the volleyball will travel to Brooklyn to tangle with Medgar Evers.

The tennis team stands at 1-3 and looks for the victory over a gamely 1-4 Rams squad.  The Rams having been playing a bunch of CUNYAC teams to start the season.  They defeated Hunter and lost to Brooklyn and Baruch.  The Lightning sole victory came at the hands of Sarah Lawrence on opening day iearlier this month.  Senior Sacha Espiritu was named CUNYAC Play of the Week this past week after going 4-0; a pair of singles victories over Yeshiva and  St. Joseph's (LI) and a pair of doubles wins teaming up with Elizaveta Markouskaya.  First serve is 4:30 PM

The Lighting volleyball squad look to make it two in a row as they travel to Medgar Evers.  Lehman picked up their first victory of the season on Tuesday night as they upended Yeshiva 3-0.  Franchesca Acevedo led the way with 10 kills.  Samantha Delgado recorded a season high 21 assists and Paulette Sepulveda added 16 digs.  THe match is scheudled to start at 6:00 PM.
