Box Score Brooklyn, N.Y. - After earning its first win of the season earlier in the week, the Lehman College women's volleyball team picked up its second-straight win on Thursday with a 3-2 defeat of Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC game played in Brooklyn. With the victory, the Lightning improved to 2-10 on the year and 1-2 in conference play.
The Cougars took the first set, 25-20. Set two went to Lehman 25-20. Medgar Evers won the third set, 25-22, in a hotly contested one. Trailing two sets to one, and on the brink of defeat, the Lehman College volleyball team showed some heart as they dominated the fourth set en route to taking it, 25-14. They then closed out the match with a fifth-set victory, 15-10.
The Lightning have won six of their last eights sets.
Caitlin Vernon posted her first double-double of the year, with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Samantha Delgado nearly had a triple-double, totaling 10 kills, 18 assists and nine digs. The Lehman College women's volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, September 26, when they host Hunter College at 6PM.
