Hawks and Lightning to Tangle on the Hardwood

The Lehman College men's and women's basketball teams will make the trip into Manhattan tonight to face Hunter College in a key early season CUNYAC contest.  The women's game tips at 5 PM with the men's game to follow.

The Lehman women are coming off a loss to Brooklyn and now stand at 1-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play.  Against the Bulldogs the Lightning were led by Eriadna Vasquez.  The junior scored nine points and grabbed a team high 11 rebounds.  It was the fourth time this season that Bronx native was credited with double figures in rebounding.  Over the weekend the Hawks upset CSI 75-62 to move to 5-8:4-1.

In their last outing the Lehman men's squad dropped a hard fought 76-62 decision to Brooklyn.  Newcomer Andre Hampton paced the Lightning with 17 points and 11 rebounds as did freshman Isaiah Geathers.  Lehman is now 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.  This past Saturday, the Hawks (3-9:1-4) fell 88-75 to CSI. Last season the Lightning swept the two game series.
