Women’s Volleyball Concludes Regular Season At Ramapo Tri-Match

Bronx, N.Y. – In its final preparations before next week's CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Championships, Lehman College concludes the regular season at non-conference tri-match on Saturday against U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and hosts Ramapo College set for 1 pm and 3 pm, respectively, at Bradley Center in Mahwah, N.J.

The Lightning (4-22) are coming off a three-set loss (4-25, 8-25, 9-25) at Montclair State University on Tuesday.  Meanwhile, USMMA (17-6) comes into the tri-match after defeating Skyline Conference opponent Sarah Lawrence in three straight sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-17) on October 23rd.  Ramapo (12-5) is coming off a three straight set road loss (14-25, 25-27, 19-25) against NJAC's William Paterson University on Tuesday.

USMMA has won seven of eight head-to-head matches against Lehman since 2010, including the last five.  The previous encounter against the two sides took place earlier this season (August 30th) with the hosts Mariners winning in three sets (25-6, 25-9, 25-7).  The last time the Lightning defeated USMMA was on Sept. 18, 2013, 3-1 (25-21, 25-8, 22-25, 25-20) at APEX Main Gym.

Ramapo currently has a 10-1 head-to-head record against Lehman since 1995 and has won the last six matches.  The previous meeting between the two squads was held on Oct. 15, 2013, at New Rochelle, N.Y. with the Roadrunners taking the match in three sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-18).
