Bronx, N.Y. – Three Lehman College athletic teams were scheduled to commence their respective 2019 fall season schedules this coming, Friday, August 30
th. However only two will compete as the tennis match against Yeshiva has been postponed. The men's soccer and and women's volleyball squads will both see action.
Also, at the Lehman Campus' South Field on Friday, the men's soccer squad, under six-year head coach
Toma Gojcevic, has its home opener against non-conference foe Sarah Lawrence College at 5 pm.

The Lightning hold an unblemished 5-0 record against Gryphons since 2013. In the previous meeting between the two squads, Lehman posted a 3-0 road victory at Tibbetts Park in Yonkers, N.Y. on Aug. 31, 2018. Goalkeeper
Chris Mulholland was credited with five saves for the clean sheet.
Rounding out Friday's action will be women's volleyball team, under newly appointed head coach
Jessica Fider, as it travels to Kings Point, N.Y. to take on U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in a non-conference encounter at 7 pm.

USMMA has won six of seven matches against Lehman since 2010, including the last four. The previous encounter against the two sides took place on October 11, 2018, with USMMA winning in three sets (25-10, 25-16, 25-16). The last time the Lightning defeated USMMA was on Sept. 18, 2013, 3-1 (25-21, 25-8, 22-25, 25-20) at APEX Main Gym.
