Bronx, NY - The Lehman College women's tennis team defeated the Bears of St. College - Brooklyn 7-2 to improve to 2-0 on the season.  

The Lightning took two of the three doubles matches as Lizaveta Markouskaya teamed up with Diwa Rana in the first hole to defeat their opponent 8-2. The third doubles pair of Joanna Rosario and Leslie Juanacio also prevailed 8-4.  The Bears took second doubles.

In singles, Cien Estuye captured her sixth singles match 6-1,6-0.  Markouskaya and Rana than prevailed at # 1 and # 2 by scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1,6-1.  In the four hole Roasario captured her match 6-2, 6-1. Celine Figueroa won at third singles 6-4, 6-3.  St. Joseph prevailed in the final match of the afternoon 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.  

The Lightning match scheduled for Wednesday against Purchase has been postponed.  Lehman will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Long Island to face St. Joseph - Long Island.
