Lightning Hoopsters Travel For CUNYAC Twin-Bill Against Hunter On Monday

Bronx, N.Y. – Both Lehman College basketball teams travel to Hunter College for a CUNYAC twin-bill at Manhattan's Hunter Sportsplex on Monday with the women's sides tip-off at 5 pm, while the men's squads face-off at 7 pm.

The Lightning women (1-21; 1-10 CUNYAC) are coming off an 84-32 home loss to former conference member College of Staten Island (CSI) at The APEX Main Gym last Friday.  Guard Fatomata Trawalleh and forward Eriadna Vasquez scored 14 points each for Lehman. Meanwhile, the Hawks (12-9; 8-3 CUNYAC) posted an 80-45 victory over hosts Baruch College last Thursday.
 
Lehman has won seven of the 12 previous encounters against Hunter however the Hawks have taken four out of the last five meetings. The previous match-up between the two sides took place last month (January 10th), with Hunter winning on the road, 82-58, at The APEX.  Vasquez scored 11 points, with five rebounds and four steals for the Lightning.
 
Also at Hunter Sportsplex on Monday, the Lightning men (13-9; 7-4 CUNYAC) look to secure a postseason berth and a home game (first round or semifinal) as they take on the Hawks (8-13; 7-4 CUNYAC), whom are also aiming for the same.
 
Lehman won its five of its last seven overall encounters last Friday after defeating visiting CSI, 87-75, at The APEX.  Forward Isaiah Geathers notched a career-high 31 points for the Lightning, while guard Gian Batista added 19 points with 12 rebounds and nine assists, just a shy of a 'triple-double.'  Meanwhile, Hunter won its fifth straight game last Friday as it topped hosts Baruch, 59-57.
 
The last meeting between Lightning-Hawks took place last month (Jan. 10th) at The APEX with the visitors ending the hosts seven-game winnings streak with a 55-51 result.  Geathers scored 20 points with eight boards for Lehman, while Batista added 15 points.
