Box Score Bronx, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a tough CUNYAC encounter to visiting CCNY, 3-1 (16-25, 12-25, 25-23, 22-25) on Friday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning fall to a 0-12 record and 0-4 in CUNYAC play, while the Beavers improve to 2-10 mark and 1-2 in conference play.
After losing the first two sets, Lehman trailed 10-6 in the third game before they staged a comeback to take a 14-12 lead before CCNY took a time out.
The Lightning continued its rally and posted its first set triumph of the season (25-23) to force a fourth game in the match. However, the Beavers held on to win the fourth game and avoid any possible five-set comeback by the Lightning.
Lehman was paced by Andrea Alaron who had a 'double-double' with 10 kills and 15 digs, while also hitting six service aces. Daira Hernandez added nine kills, while
Heder Rodriguez dished out 17 assists with eight digs for the Lightning.
Lehman will attempt to end its 16-match losing streak next Tuesday when it greets York College-NY in a
CUNYAC match-up at The APEX Main Gym with the first serve set for 7 pm ET.
