Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team hit three birds with one spike of the ball on Tuesday as it defeated visiting York College-NY in three straight sets (25-19, 25-19, 25-15) for its first victory of the season, while ending its 16-match losing streak and then securing a berth into the CUNYAC postseason. The Lightning improve to 1-12 record and 1-4 in CUNYAC, while the Cardinals drop to 0-6 mark and 0-5 in conference play.
Every player on the court contributed to the Lehman offense as each posted at least one kill while team had a match high 13 service aces in its 15th consecutive victory against York-NY.
Andrea Alarcon and Daira Hernandez had seven kills each for the Lightning, while
Doribel Duran Ubiera added five kills.
Heder Rodriguez also dished out 20 assists and grabbed seven digs for Lehman.
The Lightning conclude CUNYAC play next week (October 26th) when they visit the Hawks of Hunter College.
