Lightning Defeat Regis For Spot In Southern Maine Tournament Final

Box Score
Gorham, MAINE – Guard Will Feldman hit four consecutive clutch free-throws, to his 15 overall points, in final 11 seconds as Lehman College men's basketball team defeated Regis College, 62-57, in the opening semifinal game of Southern Maine Tip-Off Tournament on Friday evening.

The Lightning improved to a 2-0 overall record this season and secured a spot into the tournament's championship game set for 3 pm ET on Saturday against winner of the other semifinal between University of Maine-Presque Isle-Southern Maine.  Meanwhile, Regis Pride fall to 0-2 overall mark and will play in the consolation game on Saturday.

After trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half, Lehman was able to cut the Regis lead to just 35-23 going into the intermission.

In the second half, the Lightning outscored the Pride 39 to 22 thanks to shooting 54 percent from the field including 82 percent from the free throw line.

With Lehman leading by four points (58-54), Regis' Justin Evelyn hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one with 23 seconds remaining.  However, with both teams over the foul limit, Feldman took advantage of his perfect free-throw shooting this season to seal the Lightning's victory.

Forward Isaiah Geathers led the Lehman offense with 22 points along with five rebounds, while teammate Gian Batista added eight points, five assists and eight rebounds.
