Staten Island, N.Y. – Both Lehman College indoor track and field teams gave strong performances at Youree Spence Garcia Invitational, hosted by St. John's University, on Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Lightning competed against Division I, II and III sides at the invitational.
Lehman men were paced by
Obinna Njoku II whom finish fifth in the Triple Jump (12.42m) and 12
th in the Long Jump (5.89m). Njoku II also had a time of 39.77 (35
th) in the 300 Meter Dash.
Caleb Sejour clocked in at 11:12.82 (27
th) in the 3000 Meter Run and 3:21.07 (35
th) in the 1000 Race. Sejour along with Raymond Rodriguez,
Ismael Barry & Malik Aldridge crossed the finish line in fifth place (10:39.53) at the 4x800 Meter Relay.
Rounding out for the Lightning men were
Kenneth Davis who took eighth spot in the Weight Throw event (12.25m) and 18
th (10.09m) in the Shot Put, while Aldridge clocked in at 1:33.94 in the 500 Meter Run (35
th).
On the women's side,
Aminata Sissoko finished 21
st in the 500 Meter Run with a time of 1:34.69, while
Uzoma Ikeanusi took the 24
th position at the Weight Throw (9.55m). Also,
Nidia Nelson had the 28
th spot in the Shot Put (6.79m).
Lehman sides are back in action next Saturday (December 10
th) when it competes at the Joe Handelman Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
