Box Score Bronxville, N.Y. –  The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped its 2023 season opener to the hosts Sarah Lawrence College in three sets (11-25, 13-25, 12-25) on Friday in a non-conference match at the Campbell Sports Center.  The Lightning fall to an 0-1 record, while the Gryphons improve to a 1-0 mark.

After losing the first two sets, Lehman battled in the third and held an 8-8 stalemate against the home side.  However, Sarah Lawrence when on a 17 to 4 run to take the set and the match.

Outside hitter Daria Hernandez led the Lightning offense with five kills, while teammate Arianna Calderon posted four kills with two service aces and four digs in her first collegiate match.  

Lehman is back in action on Tuesday (September 5th) when it stages its home opener against non-conference rival Purchase College at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
