New York, N.Y. – Both of the Lehman College men's and women's indoor track and field teams finished third at the CUNYAC Championships at The Armory in upper Manhattan on Sunday.
Ismael Barry led the way for the Lightning men, who finished with 79.5 overall points, as he claimed gold in the 60 Meter Dash (7.22) and bronze in the 200 Meter Dash (23.46).
Kenneth Davis also captured gold in Weight Throw event with 14.23m, while
Nelson Benzan Jr. took the silver with 12.20m. Benzan Jr. was also second in the Shot Put (11.54m), while Davis finished third (10.63m). Rounding out for the men's highlights was
Jonathan Augustin as he was runner-up in the Triple Jump with 12.26m.
For the Lehman women, which obtained a total of 71 points, as it was pace by
Aminata Sissoko as she won the Triple Jump (10.18m) and took second in the 1 Mile Run (5:55.89) as well as 60 Meter Dash (8.43).
After the women's 4x400 Meter Relay (4:40.87) claimed gold,
Nidia Nelson won the Weight Throw event (12.62m) and was runner-up in Shot Put (9.21m). Rounding out the women's highlight was
Arlene Suzana as she obtained the bronze medal in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:45.54.
