Bronx, N.Y. – A 'double-double' (14 assists, 14 digs) by Ayah Hamdaoui wasn't enough for the Lehman College women's volleyball team as it dropped a CUNYAC match in three-sets (9-25, 13-25, 14-25) to visiting Hunter College on Tuesday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to a 1-5 overall record and 0-1 in CUNYAC play, while the Hawks improved to a 3-7 mark and 1-0 in conference action.
After losing the first set, Lehman took an early 3-2 lead in the second set. However, Hunter went on a 23 to 10 run to win the set and then claimed the third set for the match.
Olivia Boothe notched six kills and seven digs for the Lightning, while Alanis Vasquez added three kills and Garyana Altidor grabbed eight digs.
Lehman will look to end its current four-match losing streak when it hosts St. Joseph's University-NY, in a non-conference encounter, at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
