Box Score

The Lehman College men's basketball team (10-4 Overall, 4-0 CUNYAC) stayed perfect in CUNYAC action, defeating the Hawks of Hunter College (4-8 Overall, 2-2 CUNYAC) by a score of 81-65 Friday evening at the Hunter Sportsplex in New York, NY. The victory for Lehman served as the team's eighth in the last nine games.

The Lightning were led in the game by first-year standout Jonathan DeJesus who put forth a team-high 16 points (6-6 FG) while snatching six rebounds and blocking two shots. Senior center Alen Redzic also had another terrific evening, posting a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while tallying four steals. DeWitt Clinton High School product Duane Rhoden added 14 points and nine rebounds. Following the game, Head Coach Steven Schulman was very excited about his team's play.

“We came in here tonight, in a tough place to play, and we pulled out a victory,” Schulman said. “Jonathan played a terrific game, not missing a shot and cleaning up on the boards, and Alen Redzic was very efficient as well. I'm very encouraged by the cohesiveness of this group and we are looking forward to net Friday's game against Baruch College.”

Despite the loss for the Hawks, Joseph DeLuca dropped in a game-high 22 points while snatching eight rebounds, and Frantz Millen nearly recorded a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Lightning will have the weekend off before returning to action on Monday evening as Lehman will take on the College of Mount St. Mary in non-conference action at the APEX Center, with game-time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
