MEN'S SOCCER EDGED BY STATEN ISLAND 1-0 IN INTENSE AFFAIR AT CSI SOCCER COMPLEX

Box Score

The Lehman College soccer team (0-8 Overall, 0-2 CUNYAC) dropped a tightly-contested CUNYAC affair on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island (1-7 Overall, 1-0 CUNYAC) by a score of 1-0 at the CSI Soccer Complex in Staten Island, NY.

Neither team was able to net a goal in the first 45 minutes of action despite both units diligently scrapping for that first score. Despite the Lightning only recording one shot in the first half, goalie Marcos Coto-Batres made eight stops to help keep the Dolphins scoreless.

It was during the 66th minute of play that Staten Island's Babatunde Adekanbi would put the ball past Coto-Batres to mark the lone and winning goal of the contest. The Lightning would get a handful of chances to even the score in the game's final 20 minutes, but CSI netminder Andrew Brown made three stops to help preserve the 1-0 advantage.

The Dolphins had a total of 22 shots with 12 on goal while the Lightning had seven shots with three on goal.

The Lehman College men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday evening as the team takes to the road to battle SUNY Maritime in a non-conference contest, with start-time scheduled for 7:00pm.
