MEN'S SOCCER DROPS THIRD STRAIGHT TO START 2009, FALLING TO RAMAPO COLLEGE 9-0

The Lehman College men's soccer team (0-3 Overall, 0-0 CUNYAC) dropped their third straight contest to start the 2009 campaign on Saturday afternoon as the unit suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of the Ramapo College Roadrunners (2-0 Overall, 0-0 NJAC) in a non-conference contest played in Mahwah, NJ.

 

The Roadrunners took control of the game early, and never looked back. Ramapo received a goal from Matt Fleissner just 3:11 into the contest, as the Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the half belonged to Ramapo College standout Rob Santaniello, and he netted three of the five goals his unit would tack on in the game's first half, and the Roadrunners took a 6-0 lead into halftime.

 

In the second half, Ramapo College continued to tack on scores, adding three additional goals to account for the 9-0 final score.

Santaniello finished the afternoon as the high scorer, netting a total of four goals on the day while also recording an assist. Frank Vogas also added two goals and two assists for the Roadrunners, and Fleissner finished with two assists on the day.

 

Ramapo College took 20 shots, compared to just four for Lehman.

 

The Lightning will look to get their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon as Lehman battles the FDU Florham Devils in another non-conference contest, with start time scheduled for 1:00pm.
