Lehman Undone by Gothic Knights in Less Than Optimal Conditions

On a cold and rainy day in North Jersey the Lehman men's soccer team found themselves on the wrong side of a 7-0 decision against New Jersey City University, a team they last met on October 15, 1996.

Dual three goal performances by NJCU's Walter Avans and Josh Sewell were more than enough to do in the Lightning in the non-conference matchup that dropped them to 4-7-1 overall. Avans and Sewell now have four goals a piece on the season for NJCU.

In addition to his three goal performance, Avans also assisted on the first goal of the game when he found Gabriel Avans for a one timer in the fourth minute that started the scoring barrage.

Lehman's ability to put Monday's loss quickly behind them will be key as they prepare for an important CUNYAC showdown with York College on Wednesday night in the Bronx.
