BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman men's soccer team pushed its win streak to four games on Saturday afternoon, defeating Brooklyn College 3-0 to move to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
Junior
Oumar Niang tallied the first two goals of the half, one in the eighth minute and one in the 35th minute, to give the Lightning a commanding 2-0 lead at the break. Niang's two strikes were his third and fourth of the season.
Niang can thank
Carlos Ribeiro for this second tally as the freshman floated a perfect ball off a free kick to his teammate.
Momar Thiam closed the scoring in the 52nd minute, his second goal of the season, when he blasted a shot past Bulldogs keeper Stamatis Boundouris from the right side.
The Lightning once again possessed the ball in its opponent's offensive zone for a majority of the game, in turn firing 10 shots on goal to one for the Bulldogs.
Lehman continues its current string of CUNYAC matchups when it takes on York College on Wednesday night.
