The Lehman baseball team was on the wrong side of an offensive onslaught on Wednesday afternoon, getting trounced by host Western Connecticut State University 24-0 to fall to 5-20 on the season.
Junior Zack Dandrea slammed two home runs as part of his six RBI performance and was joined in the long ball line by fellow junior Cody Sestito, who homered and went 4-for-6, as the Pioneers broke open a close game with 22 runs from the fourth through seventh innings.
Lehman starter
Justin Moises was largely ineffective during his four plus innings of work, allowing 13 runs on 13 hits. Relievers
Michael Liang and
Brandon Negron didn't fare much better with Liang giving up seven runs (four earned) on five hits, while Negron allowed four West Conn runners to cross the plate.
Pioneers' hurler Connor Nolan stymied the Lightning for the better part of the day, allowing only five hits over his seven innings of work.
Senior
Jeremy Lopez continued his fine hitting for the Lightning, picking up two hits on the day to raise his average to .410.

Miguel Perez and Moises also got into the hit column for Lehman.
The Lightning will look to bounce back on Thursday evening when it hosts SUNY Maritime under the lights on the South Field at 6 p.m.
