Second Half Rally Falls Short, Men's Soccer Loses to John Jay

QUEENS, N.Y. – A second half rally for the Lehman College men's soccer team came up short, and the Lightning dropped a 3-2 decision at John Jay College on Saturday night. John Jay is now 6-6-3 overall, including 5-1-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference, while Lehman is now 3-10-1, and 2-3 in the CUNYAC.

John Jay scored all three goals in the first 26:28, taking a 3-0 lead. Lehman sophomore Jonathan Moallem (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) scored at the 28:28 mark, stemming the John Jay run. The score remain 3-1 at the half.

In the 54th minute, junior Irving Posada (Bronx, N.Y./ISLYP) cut the deficit to 3-2, on a pass from Carlos Ribeiro (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx International). But that was as close as Lehman would get, and the game ended 3-2.

John Jay is now in first place in the CUNYAC, while Lehman falls into seventh place.

The Lightning next play on Wednesday, October 10, hosting Baruch College. Baruch is currently 4-0-2 in the CUNYAC.
