Box Score

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Stevens Institute of Technology scored five runs in the first and eight more in the second on its way to a 15-2 victory over the visiting Lehman Lightning on Saturday afternoon.

Lehman suffered its first loss of the season after wins over Yeshiva University and SUNY Maritime.

Junior catcher Edwin Marrero went 2-for-3 for the Lightning who collected eight hits overall off the Ducks' trio of hurlers Kevin Mathews, Brian Hennelly and Jeffrey Hart.

The Lightning's two runs came in the fourth and fifth on a sacrifice fly from Onix Mejia and an RBI single by Michael Liang.  Mejia finished 1-for-3 on the day while Liang ended up 1-for-4.

Lehman starter Francisco Sanchez was tagged for a majority of the runs, allowing 11 (10 earned) over his one plus inning of work, and did not help his own cause with six walks and three wild pitches.

Stevens added single runs in the fourth and seventh to provide the final margin of victory.

Lehman is right back in action on Sunday as it travels to Brooklyn for a doubleheader against Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
