Box Score

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Four Lightning pitchers were pounded for 23 hits on Monday evening as Lehman was trounced 26-2 by the host Rams, dropping its record to 9-10 on the season.

Farmingdale plated one in the first, went scoreless in the second, and then exploded for 22 runs from the third through sixth innings.

To further deepen the Lightning's frustration, the team was held hitless over the first eight innings before breaking through for two runs in the top of the ninth.  Frank Almonte singled off C.J. Bula, the fourth Rams pitcher on the day, to break up the no-hitter, before Michael Liang then doubled to chase home Christian Fadul, who started the inning getting hit by a pitch, and Almonte.

The quartet of Chris Phelan, Anthony Eilers, Connor Henson and Bula combined to strike out 14 Lehman batters while walking only one.  On the flip side Lehman pitchers issued nine free passes.

The Lightning also committed seven errors leading to nine unearned runs for Farmingdale.

With the win the Rams improved to 18-9.

Lehman is back in action on Wednesday for a non-conference tilt against SUNY Old Westbury.
