JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to host York College in CUNY Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night, in a game played at Aviator Field in Brooklyn.

Junior midfielder Ronniel Mendez (Matanzas, Cuba/Miami Southbridge) netted his seventh goal of the season, and is among the nation's leaders in goals scored and points tallied. Junior midfielder Arthur Da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/E.E. Dr. Octavio Mendes) passed the ball on a corner kick to Mendez who buried the ball into the net to give the Lightning (3-6, 1-1 CUNYAC) a 1-0 lead at the 24:10 mark of the first half. The Cardinals (3-5, 1-1 CUNYAC) then scored three unanswered goals to secure the victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Jesus Marin (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy), made eight saves for Lehman.

The Lightning will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, against The City College of New York for a key CUNYAC battle in the South Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
