Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y – The Lehman College men's soccer team fell to CCNY, 2-1, in a hard fought CUNY Athletic Conference match on Saturday morning, at Randall's Island. All three goals were scored in the first half.
Lehman (4-8, 2-3 CUNYAC) struck first as freshman forward
Gentian Muhaxheri (Bronx, N.Y./Bedri Pejani, Kosovo) was able to redirect the ball into the back of the net off a rebound and give the Lightning a 1-0 lead, just under nine minutes into the match. The Beavers (6-7, 3-2 CUNYAC) tied the contest in the 34
th minute, thanks to a header off a corner opportunity. Just 6:03 later, CCNY grabbed its first lead of the match, 2-1, and that would be the score going into halftime.
In the second half, the Lightning put pressure on the opposing defense, by registering 12 shots and earning eight corner opportunities in the final 45 minutes of play. However, Lehman was not able to bury home a second goal and CCNY was able to pick up the victory, 2-1. For the match, the Lightning had 15 shots on goal while the Beavers registered 11.

Jesus Marin (East Harlem, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy) made nine saves for the Lightning. Senior forward
Hugh Campbell (Bronx, N.Y./Evander Childs) picked up an assist on Lehman's only goal.
The Lightning will be back in CUNY Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening as Lehman will host Hunter for Senior Day, on the South Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, Lehman College will honor its seniors who will be taking the field for their last collegiate home match of the regular season.
