Box Score BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought CUNY Athletic Conference match to Hunter College, 1-0 in overtime, on the South Field on Wednesday evening. The Hawks were able to score the golden goal just 3:10 into the extra session, in a game that featured intermittent rain showers.
The Lightning (4-9, 2-4 CUNYAC) had plenty of opportunities to score a goal throughout regulation, but could not take advantage. In the 60th minute, senior midfielder
Ronniel Mendez (New York, N.Y./Miami Southridge) and classmate
Hugh Campbell (Bronx, N.Y./Evander Childs) had a two-on-one opportunity and Mendez shot the ball just wide. In the 78
th minute, Campbell redirected the ball on a header but Hunter's (3-10, 3-3 CUNYAC) goalkeeper made a good save to prevent Lehman from scoring.
The Hawks also had opportunities to grab the lead during regulation, but Lehman's defense helped keep the game scoreless. In the 64

Jesus Marin (East Harlem, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy) made a big save on a one-on-one opportunity for Hunter. He also stopped a shot off a free kick in the 67
th minute, to keep the match scoreless.
Both teams were held to no goals at the end of regulation. In overtime, the Hawks tallied a goal off a deflection to give them the victory.
Tonight was Senior Day and Lehman College honored ten seniors who took the field for their last home match of their collegiate careers.
The Lightning will hit the road on Saturday, for a key CUNY Athletic Conference contest, with Brooklyn College. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
