Baseball Drops 8-2 Decision to Staten Island

BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team managed to play the first game of the doubleheader with Staten Island on Saturday morning, before Game Two was postponed due to rain.

The makeup date for Game Two is tentatively set for Monday afternoon.

Today, the Lightning scored a pair of runs in the first inning, but ultimately fell 8-2.

Lehman scored two runs with two outs in the first inning, as both junior right fielder Tom Liang (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center) and junior shortstop Stephen Smith (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) had RBI singles.

Senior Michael Liang (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center) started the game for Lehman, throwing 4+ innings, yielding three earned runs while striking out five.
