Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team concluded the 2014 season by dropping both ends of a CUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader to Stevens Institute of Technology , 8-2 and 7-2, on Monday evening.
Today was Senior Day and Lehman College honored Waldo Acosta (New York, N.Y./Bread and Roses), Aneudi Garcia (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center), Kevin Hernandez (Bronx, N.Y./DeWitt Clinton), Socrates Peralta (Santo Domingo, D.R./Morris), Francisco Feliz (Santo Domingo, D.R./Discovery), and Michael Liang (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center) with a brief ceremony before they took the field for the final time in their collegiate careers.
In Game One, junior catcher Jaime Maldonado (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Tuckahoe) tallied an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning, as junior first baseman Carlos Alcantara (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) registered a pair of singles.
Junior pitcher Stephen Smith (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) started and went 4.2 innings, giving up four earned runs and fanning five batters, to take the loss.
In Game Two, Michael Liang took the mound as the starting pitcher, going five-plus innings, giving up four earned runs, and striking out three hitters.
Lehman (6-21, 2-8 CUNYAC) found some offense in the bottom of the fourth inning as freshman second baseman Thomas Montilli (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) singled to left field, scoring Alcantara.
