BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman College men's soccer team opened the 2014 season with a 3-0 loss to Yeshiva University, on Friday afternoon. The match was played on the campus of Bronx Community College.

The Maccabees scored one goal in the opening half, and two in the second, to seal the victory.

Lehman sophomore goalkeeper Jesus Marin (East Harlem, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy) started the match for the Lightning, and made five saves. Classmate Alejandro Romero (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) closed out the game, and stopped two shots.

Senior midfielder Abraham Enahoro (Lagos, Nigeria/E.G.S.) registered two shots on goal, while sophomore midfielder Essosa Aluyi (Nagoya, Japan/Elmont Memorial) and senior midfielder Ronniel Mendez (New York, N.Y./Miami Southridge) each had one.

Lehman will have the home opener on Wednesday, September 3, against Maritime, on the South Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. Preceding the men's match will women's team, who will also battle Maritime.
