BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman College men's soccer team fell in the home opener to local rival Maritime College, 1-0, on the South Field on Wednesday evening. The Privateers scored the lone goal less than a minute into the match and hung on for the victory.

Lehman sophomore goalkeeper Jesus Marin (East Harlem, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy) recorded five saves to help keep the Lightning (0-2) in the match.

Lehman had plenty of chances with nine shots on goal and six corner kicks, but were not able to cash in. Lehman had 17 shots total, while Maritime (1-1) registered 13 total shots.

The Lightning will be back in action on Sunday, September 7, on the road, for a non-conference clash with Rowan University. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
