Aluyi Scores in Men's Soccer Match at Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Lehman College men's soccer team headed south to face NJAC power Rowan University on Sunday afternoon, and lost to the host Profs, 7-1. Lehman is now 0-3 on the nascent season, while Rowan improves to 1-2.

The game started slowly, as both teams tested each other's defense. In the 26th minute, Rowan broke through with their first goal. The Profs would score two more in the first half, leading 3-0 at intermission. Rowan went on to score four consecutive goals to open the second half.

Sophomore Essosa Aluyi (Nagoya, Japan / Elmont Memorial) scored Lehman's goal with just under 15 minutes to play in the game. It was his first goal as a member of the Lehman Lightning.

In goal, sophomore Jesus Marin (East Harlem, N.Y./Manhattan Village Academy) played well, making nine saves on the afternoon.

The Lightning will host SUNY Old Westbury on Wednesday night, at 7:00, on the South Field.
