Ruiz's Goal is not Enough

Men's Soccer Falls to Ramapo

Mahwah, N.J. – The Lehman College (7-6) men's soccer team fell 2-1 in a non-conference tilt against the Roadrunners of Ramapo College (6-6-2).  The match was contested at the Athletic Center on the Ramapo campus.

Brandon Ruiz converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute to level the score for the Lightning.  It was Ruiz's sixth goal of the season.  Ramapo had gotten on the scoreboard at the 5:51 mark when Justin Olaya converted a pass from Jorge Castro.  The Roadrunners outshot the Lightning 12-3 in the first half. 
Ramapo secured the victory in the 52nd minute converting the goal off a free kick.  The Roadrunners Jorge Castro sent the free kick into the box and Rob Shalikar flicked it past the Lehman goalie for the deciding goal.  It was Shaliker's first goal of the season. 

Lehman was outshot 21-6.

Lehman returns to action on Saturday morning.  The Lightning will host CUNYAC rival Brooklyn College at 11:00 AM on South Field.
