Box Score BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped its CUNY Athletic Conference match to John Jay, 2-0, on the South Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Lightning now fall to 3-4-1 in CUNYAC play, while the Bloodhounds up their conference record to 4-4.
John Jay tallied its first goal in the 16
th minute, and then struck again in the 60
th minute, to clinch the victory.
Sophomore
Brandon Melendez Ruiz (Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton) led the Lightning attack with two shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper
Irvin Barreto (Brooklyn, N.Y./Martin Luther King Jr.) made six saves in net for Lehman.
The Lightning outshot the Bloodhounds, 12-10, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 11-4.
Lehman will be back in action on Saturday, for a non-conference match against The New School. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. It is Senior Day as Lehman College will honor its seniors with a ceremony prior to the start of the match.
