Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team earned a thrilling and hard-fought CUNY Athletic Conference victory over Hunter, 4-3, on Randall's Island on Saturday afternoon.

The Lightning are now 2-2 in CUNYAC play and 6-4 overall. Hunter falls to 2-2 in the conference and 5-5 overall.
In the 15
th minute of the match, Ruiz (Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton) had a free kick opportunity and directed it to Mvogo (Bronx, N.Y./MCND), who headed the ball into the net, to put the Lightning up 1-0. Just over a minute later, the Hawks countered to tie the contest at one.
Just over two minutes later, Mulholland (Mahopac, N.Y./JFK Catholic) received the pass from junior defender
Maurice Whyte (Bronx, N.Y./Kingston College) and shot the ball from a sharp angle into the back of the cage, to help Lehman regain the lead, 2-1. With just 15 seconds left to play in the opening half, Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center) scored a goal to extend Lehman's lead to 3-1. Freshman defender
Luis Andrade (Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton) was credited with the assist on Lehman's third goal of the match.
In the second half, the Hawks put pressure on the Lightning by scoring two goals in a span of 18:15 to tie the contest, 3-3, with 20:45 left to play.
The match was destined to go to overtime, but in the closing seconds of regulation, Hunter committed a foul that granted a free kick opportunity for Lehman from 15-yards out. Ruiz launched the ball past the goalkeeper for the game-winner as time expired.
For the match, the Hawks outshot the Lightning 21-10. Junior goalkeeper
Irvin Barreto (Brooklyn, N.Y./Martin Luther King, Jr.) made 11 saves to put Lehman in position to win the match.
The Lightning will be back in action on Wednesday for a road conference match with the College of Staten Island. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
