Bronx, NY - The Lehman swim teams were back in action, hosting their final event before the holiday break and both the men and women came up just short in the APEX Pool to CUNYAC rival Staten Island.
The women fell by a score of 122-104 while the men were edged 124-113. The Lehman men fall to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in CUNYAC. While the women now stand at 3-3:0-2. The CSI men are now 3-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. While the Lady Dolphins are 3-5:3-2.Â
Senior
Jeremy Guerra posted a 23.15 in the 50 freestyle to take home the top spot. He also took the top spot in the 100 freestyle posting a 51.27. Freshman
Jessica Reynoso was the fastest in the pool in the 200 Individual medley finishing the race in 2:23.76. Reynoso also was the gold medal winner in the 100 yard breast stroke posting a time of 1:12.42. Senior
Anthony Preda followed that up with a gold medal in the men's version of the race completing the 200 yards in 2:06.20 to edge touch out his nearest competitor by 0.08 seconds. Preda also touched first in the 100 yard breast stroke posting a time of 59.56. The Lightning also took both ends of the 100 yard butterfly. For the women,
Melody Ovalles touched first in a time of 1:11.78.Â
Enes Mernica also touched first in the men's race in 58.33.Â
In the diving competition Gabriella Rodriguez and
Meilyn Hernandez finished one-two in the women's three-meter event.Â

The Lightning are back in the pool training over the break. However, their next competition isn't until, January 12 when the women's team from John Jay invades the APEX Pool. The men and women will both be back in action two days later when Baruch comes to the APEX for another key CUNYAC contest.Â
