Lightning Post New School Record but come up Short vs Hunter

Bronx, NY - The relay squad of Melody Ovalles (back), Elizabeth Oladele (breast), Jessica Reynoso (fly) and Angela Mejia (free) posted a 2:03.65, a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay. The previous mark was set last season at the Metropolitan Championships.

The Lightning fell to Hunter 134-94.

Hunter remains unbeaten at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Jessica Reynoso won the 50 free in 26.54; two seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Reynoso also took home the top spot in the 100 free in a time of 59.26 besting the field by four seconds. In the one meter diving event Lehman placed one-two with Gabriela Rodriguez and Meilyn Hernandez bringing home the gold and the silver. The duo repeated in the three-meter driving. Lehman was also victorious in the 200 free relay. Team mates Gabriela Garcia, Christy Maldonado, Susana Perez and Christina Lousell obliterated the field in 2:13.48.

The Lightning will be back in action next Friday night in the APEX Pool. The Dolphins of CSI will be the Lightning's final opponent before the winter break.
