Wayne, N.J. – Both Lehman College swimming teams dropped non-conference meets at William Paterson University on Tuesday evening at the Wightman Pool as the women's side fell 133-34, while the men's squad lost 143-18.
The highlight for the Lightning women was Shivania Raghuthu as she claimed silver in the 50 Freestyle (38.11) and 100 Butterfly (1:47.88). Raghuthu also took second alongside Liberty Almanzar,
Amya Sanchez, Mariella Nunes as part of the 200 Freestyle Relay (2:10.17) and 200 Medley Relay (2:33.39) Teams, respectively. Almanzar was runner-up in the 100 Backstroke (1:17.00), while Sanchez did the same in the 100 Freestyle (1:03.93).
For the Lehman men,
Mohammad Noori,
Joseph Fernandez,
Youssef Rageh and
Nelson Vallette won silver as part of the 200 Freestyle Relay Team with a time of 2:29.82.
The Lightning will be back in action at the end of the month when it hosts the annual CUNYAC Championships at The APEX Swimming Pool. The three-day event commence on Friday (January 30th at 2 pm ET.
