The Lightning were led by senior outfielder

Christopher Lopez (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.), who each drilled a three-run homer.

Warren Veras (Bronx, N.Y./Jonathan Levin) went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in, while senior shortstop
Jhon Comas (Yonkers, N.Y./Gregorio Luperon) went 4-for-4 with three RBI of his own. Sophomore catcher
Rainiel Baez (Santo Domingo, D.R./Bathgate) scored two runs, produced a hit, and drove in two. Classmate
Socrates Arevalo (Bronx, N.Y./South Bronx) scored four runs, had three RBI, produced a double, and hit a single. Sophomore outfielder
Miguel Melendez (Bronx, N.Y./Astor Collegiate Academy) drew a walk, junior designated hitter
Julian Jones (Columbia, Md./Atholton) drove in three runs on two hits, and junior
Omar Gomez (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Center for Science and Math) scored a run.
On the mound, sophomore pitcher
Joel Duran (Harlem, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) picked up the win in relief, pitching two shutout innings, giving up just one hit, and striking out five batters.

Stephen Smith (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders), and Veras were honored with a ceremony prior to the start of the game.
The Lightning will return to the South Field on Thursday, against the College of Mount Saint Vincent, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
