THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking road loss to SUNY Maritime, 1-0 in overtime, on Wednesday evening. The Lightning now fall to 3-2.

The Privateers scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick 7:36 into the extra session.

Junior goalkeeper Irvin Barreto (Brooklyn, N.Y./Martin Luther King, Jr.) made five saves to help Lehman force overtime. Freshman Caio Zogbi Barbosa Mancanares (New Rochelle, N.Y./Coronel Osorio del Oluera) registered two shots on goal, while classmate Douglas Venancio Dos Santos (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and sophomore Marco Correia (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) each had one shot on goal.

The Privateers outshot the Lightning, 12-9. Lehman had three corner kicks, while Maritime had seven.

The Lightning will open the CUNY Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Saturday, when Lehman hosts Medgar Evers on the South Field, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
