Pioneers Top Lightning in the Pool

Wayne, NJ- The Lehman Lightning dropped both ends of the swim meet against the Pioneers of William Paterson as the women fell 136-85 and the men fell 138-103. For complete meet results follow the link.

In the women's competition……..
Gabriela Garcia earned the top spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.12.
Gabriela Rodriguez scored a 123.90 in the 3 meter diving competition to take the gold medal.
Claudia Rodriguez also captured gold in the 100 breast after posting a 1:23.89.
The relay squad of Christy Maldonado, Gabriela Garcia, Susana Perez and Samantha Cardi posted a 2:10.16 in the 200 freestyle relay to win the event.

On the men's side……
Enes Mernica was a double winner as he topped the field in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 11:06.59. Later in the meet he won the 500 freestyle in 5:23.33.
Anthony Preda took home the top spot in the 100 butterfly after posting a 54.52. He also captured first place in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 59.07.
The 200 medley relay squad of Ryan Sanchez, Carlos Alonso, Francis Turbi and Jeremy Guerra captures first place in a time of 1:51.89.

The Lightning jump back into CUNYAC competition on Tuesday night as they travel to York.
