Brooklyn, NY - The Lightning took the first two events, the men's and women's 200 yard medley relay, and went on to defeat Brooklyn. The men prevailed 112-103 and the women cruised 123-71. The Lehman men now stand at 7-3:3-1 and the women have a record of 6-6:3-3.
MenEnes Mernica and
Siprian Mayol finished one two in the 1000 yard freestyle in times of 11:12.17 and 13:58.65 respectively. In the 200 yard freestyle
Carlos Alonso posted a 2:02.64 to win the event.
Anthony Preda earned captured gold in the 50 freestyle in a time of 22.42. Mernica pulled off the double winning the 200 Individual medley after posting a 2:17.73.
Adam Acevedo and Chris Fischer placed one two in the 100 fly in times of 58.27 and 58.39 respectively.
Jeremy Guerra posted a 52.82 in the 100 free to win the event. Preda also won the 100 backstroke by more than three seconds after posting a 1:01.40.
Enes Mernica earned gold after posting a 5:37.51 in the 500 yard freestyle. It was the third event he won tonight.
WomenChristy Maldonado was victorious in the 1000 yard freestyle after posting a 14:35.25.
Jessica Reynoso captured gold in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:09.05. Lightning also took the top spot in the as 50 freestyle
Angela Mejia posted a 27.14.
Melody Ovalles posted a 1:16.91 to win the 100 yard butterfly. The Lightning took the top four spots in the 100 freestyle and Reynoso, Mejia,
Gabriela Garcia and
Katia Galindo swam to victory.
Susana Perez posted a 1:20.29 win the 100 yard backstroke. The Lightning also took the top three spots in the 500 freestyle as Maldonado,
Samantha Cardi and
Christina Lousell topped the field.
