Box Score 2 BRONX, NY --- The Lehman College baseball team took two games from visiting Yeshiva University on Friday afternoon at the South Field on the Lehman campus in the Bronx, winning the first game, 17-2, before shutting out the Maccabees in the second, 14-0.
The Lightning of Lehman (4-11) received standout performances from sophomore first baseman
Christopher Lopez, who combined for four-for-six at the plate with four doubles and three runs batted in. Junior shortstop
Juan Arias drove in five runs while junior leftfielder
Socrates Arevalo finished with six hits. Junior second baseman
Steve Cuello and sophomore centerfielder
Carlo Francisco both went yard.
Junior pitcher
Thomas Montilli picked up his second win of the season in the first game, striking out four Maccabees in five innings. Junior pitcher
Francisco Pena provided five shutout innings in game two for his first win of the year, tallying six strikeouts.
The Maccabees of Yeshiva (0-8) received three hits from senior first baseman Zachary Perl.
Up next for the Lightning of Lehman, the team travels to New Jersey City University for a Tuesday game against the Gothic Knights beginning at 3:30 p.m.
