Arias Goes Three for Four

Box Score Newark, NJ - Juan Arias belted out three hits and Carlo Francisco two but the Lightning (6-13) couldn't over come the offense of the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark (8-11).  Lehman dropped the non-conference game 16-3. 

The Lightning owned a 1-0 after two innings scoring on an unearned run in the top of the second.  However, The Scarlet Raiders plated five in the third to take a lead they would not surrender.  Lehman added a run in the fourth and sixth inning however, Rutgers scored five more runs over the course of the same three innings.  The Scarlet Raiders would score six more runs over the final three innings for the margin of victory. 

Pitcher Jose Albrincole was credited with the loss and falls to 1-3 on the season.

Rutgers-Newark scored 16 runs on13 hits to prevail.  Ryan McFarlane was 3-for-4 with three RBI and four runs scored.  Josh Cote added three hits with a pair of runs and RBI. Anthony Rosoline pitched the first seven innings for R-N giving up all three runs on eight hits.  He is now 5-0. 

The Lightning begin league play on Saturday as they host the College of Staten Island in a double header beginning at 11:00 AM.
